This was interesting, a take on the history of FAB1 by Marc of Sixmania. Part 2 is linked in the article.

Good grief what dreadful translation software was used there - I can see the original French right through the mistranslations. :)
ReplyDeleteThere's an item on the Investigator eightwheeler too:

Best -- Paul
See what you mean Paul! Thanks for the link. I enjoyed both articles.
DeleteAt least the one on the Investigator car was a lot easier to read than the one on FAB 1. That was really hard work. Still, an interesting look at the subject from a non-English source.
ReplyDeleteI agree, very interesting. Was the Dinky version of the Investigator car available in NZ Paul?
DeleteI have no idea if the Investigator car was available in NZ, at least part of the Dinky range was, but there were tight import controls in place in the 1970s, to limit the use of overseas funds and protect local industry. I do not recall seeing any, but Dinky Toys were always out of my price range, and I would not have known what it was anyway. It is a rare sight today at fairs, as is the Coast Guard amphibian.
ReplyDeleteIts a great looking die-cast Paul and sad it never got 'advertised' via The Investigator on TV as it was knocked on the head.
