I've been Netflixing at night again and dibbing into some films I've never seen.
Midnight Sky: I enjoyed this apocalypse. George Clooney directed and starred in this tale of a radioactive Earth. The population have left Project SWORD style and colonised one of Jupiter's moons. The real story is Clooney's character's gradual decline in his polar radar base and his scrabble to survive in the icy wastes. There's a spaceship too but they'll explain. In tone and pace it reminded me of Annihilation, which I saw last month. A strange surprise was seeing my Grandson's favourite plush puppy in Midnight Sky, which he got at Ikea. Its called Dizzy. Have you seen Midnight Sky?
Jack Reacher films: I saw two of these and was pleasantly surprised how Tom Cruise handles himself. He's quite the fighter and regularly takes on four or five pro's in alleyways and is the last man standing, often battered and bruised. I'm still making my mind up if Cruise is a natural tough guy in the way say Liam Neeson or Jason Stathem is. Tom is getting on and his six pack looks a little saggy but hey, he seems to be getting the job done as Jack Reacher. What do you think?
More big screen scribbles to come.
