Another item I noticed at this weekend's car boot - and a real blast from the past - was something I know I had as a kid. If I didn't have them myself on the wall then they were hung in my folk's house in the Sixties.
I'm on about vintage plastic wall plaques depicting planes, locomotives and vintage cars. I checked the rear of the plaque and it said Frank Downs Ltd. It was like this - the green locomotive bottom left - as featured on an old Worthpoint sale.
Googling Frank Downs it I came to ... this blog first!
I'd written about Frank Downs a while ago!
Trying to find something new about then I was chuffed to see that a long list of their plaques was sold on Worthpoint ages ago so I've borrowed this picture too. It makes interesting reading and shows how wide the range was,
Another Frank Downs product I found on Etsy was a silhouette of this 1926 Bentley.
There may well have been plastic silhouettes in our home too. It really rings a bell.
Did you have Frank Downs wall plaques in your home as a kid?
