Blimey. This build had issues.
The scrap body came easy but the painting was a nightmare as I tried to coat Humbrol with a can of spray Yellow. It cracked like crazy paving!
Anyways, 5 more coats of Humbrol later here we have my new junk Jet Firefly aka the Jet Bulldozer.
Alas, I forgot what I was making and initialed it the RV, the last one I made. Let's assume it means Rescue Vehicle this time!

Phew!
See what you think.
Nifty and cute! Did you spray acrylic over enamel? That doesn't work well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kev! Yes, I'm still learning about paint!
DeleteAmazing work again! One minor criticism, dont hide the model under harsh camera FX!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wote and well, I like harsh camera FX!
DeleteSo do I, but it hides your handiwork!
DeleteThe paint layers are reminiscent of the diecast repaints of my childhood.
ReplyDeleteha ha, like it Terran. Yep, it took a lot of paint to cover up my cock-up!
DeleteOh yes! Using enamels used to be the bane of my life too! You basically have to let it dry for a day or two to ensure it doesn't crackle when repainted.
ReplyDelete-And we model makers are always in too much of a hurry for that!
HAPPY MODELLING!
Thanks for the tip Looey. Yep, I am always in a hurry!
DeleteI always use enamels when painting models because of their superior covering power compared to acrylics. I generally only use acrylics when painting terrain, as enamels would melt expanded polystyrene foam, which I use for hills, etc.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip Paul. I'm still learning.
