I see evidence of excavation in certain areas of this place. The water has no outlet that I can see(streams, culverts)and it expands and contracts dramatically,so My guess is its more man made than natural. The good news is that animals, fish and insects (Bees and Butterflies) are flourishing here,so hopefully man's intervention is a doing some good.
They can be funded on State or Federal(National) level. This particular one is State funded.I'm not sure if there are any National parks in New Jersey...shame on me!
That looks idyllic Brian - what I wouldn't give for a boat trip on a nice big lake
ReplyDeleteCanoes and small non motor boats are permitted.Maybe I will invest in one.
ReplyDeleteIs that an ancient landscape Brian or is it the result of industry like gravel axtraction or something?

ReplyDeleteLooks great Brian. How are landscapes protected in NJ. Is is a State thing or a national set of rules for conserving fragile places?
