Some more examples of 60's Dalekmania items.
I would have liked this as a kid. A dart gun that's also a torch!
I did have this at the time. If I remember rightly the object of the game was to steer a ball bearing in and out of all the recesses following a route. You lost out if your ball rolled into the middle.
I never had this but I reckon it was just a variation of the old Magic Robot game.
A shooting game with some great retro box art.
A Dalek construction kit.
Gorgeous gear that lot Scoop! Some I've never seen before. The Doc really was mega popular back then wasn't he judging by the sheer volume of toys.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection- I think it was more a case of the daleks being popular, rather than Dr Who, Woodsy- apart from the Cherilea mechanoids, I don't remember any of the other creatures from Dr Who being released as toys in the 1960s.
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting Andy, so all the monsters and creatures like the Cybermen toys came out in the Seventies. I wonder why?
DeleteI had the Bagatelle, the small friction-drive Dalek (x4), and loads of Dalek Rolykins, as well as the mini version of the badge - and no doubt I bought the sweet cigarettes. I've got far more Dalek merchandise now than I had then 'though.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a great collection Kid! Is it displayed on your blog? I always thought that the Daleks' flying platform would have made a great accessory for the Marx Dalek. Wonder if they ever considered it? I've seen a flying platform toy for action figures in Spain.
ReplyDeleteSome Daleks are on my blog. If you type Daleks into the search blog on my home page, some posts should pop up.
