Whoa. What a concept. Imagine a Gerry Anderson Century 21 series in which you have the security organization with the special vehicles defending the world...but instead of natural disasters or Mysterons or organ-harvesting UFO pilots, their opponents are giant monsters all over the world awakened by an underground nuclear test. It could be a cross between Thunderbirds, Terrahawks, and Japanese monster movies. Why do you give me ideas like this?
I suppose Quatermass was a bit like Brains against Monsters but he didn't haave any cool machines! More recently there was a series on UK TV called Primeval about a crack force protecting the earth from giant insects but I never got into it. I am enjoying a series called GRIMM though about the last of the Brothers Grimm defending a twon against various monsters in human form. I've only seen two episodes and I like it.
And I wish I was at home tomorrow Ed to watch Ymir again but after a two week break Work beckons. The Ymir in the post was painted by none other than Ed Valigursky, who gave us the Booster Rocket, MEV 2 and Nova 1!

ReplyDeleteGerry Anderson & Ray Harryhausen would have been such a perfect team-up.
ReplyDelete"20 Million Miles From Earth" is on Channel 4 tomorrow, 1.35pm!
ReplyDeleteLove the Ymir!
