Well, I must have been good, cos I got presents ... including the Barbie Astronaut I dropped hints about here. Well, I sorta, kinda got one ... pic to follow another time.
I should have visited you all by now. You've all been good boys and girls and thanks for the boiled eggs and Christmas punch left out, Rudolph and enjoyed them! Have a great feast and lay off off the Brussels Sprouts! I never give them to the Elves anymore, they starting to fly with every trump! Anyways, the first person to name all the reindeer correctly will get to ride in the sleigh next year!
He's been, he's been! Got a nice collection of Airfix ships (Golden Hind, Victory, Royal Sovereign) to see me through the winter months. I got a Moebius 18inch diameter Jupiter 2 on the way too! Ok, got to get back down on the carpet now, near the Christmas tree and dry fit these hulls together! Happy Days!
"You know Dasher and Dancer & Prancer & Vixen Comet and Cupid and Doner and Blitzen...but do you recall....the most famous Reindeer of all.....Rudolph the red nosed reindeer" Strangely enough as part of my job I led the singing of this at a Christmas party on Thursday night! and I got the 'Thunderbirds' boxed set from Mrs Cloudbase as part of my Christmas so I watched 'Give Or Take A Million' over breakfast...Instant Christmas spirit! Merry Christmas Everyone!!
Hi Toad...not at all, I will definitely do that. I have an old scanner somewhere and will look it out...give me a day or two ok? I had the Royal Sovereign as a kid, it is a beautiful ship and the Airfix kit ain't half bad, plently of detail. This kit is in perfect shape and still in the plastic bags. It had been sitting in someon'e loft for years and years. It still has an old price sticker on it...was only a couple of quid back when it was new!lol Hope you are having a Merry Christmas Toad!
One of my uncles built an Airfix Royal Sovereign back in the sixties. I remember admiring it ... all the little cannons, the beautiful gold scroll work on the stern, and was there a little bell beneath a kid-of four-posted canopy on deck? I just thought the whole was so amazing. So will look forward to seeing the actual instructions when you have time!
Santa brought me Mike Trim's book the Future Was Fab, the Tomart Guide to Collecting Horror Film Memorabilia and another book, Collecting the Space Race. Some great reading coming up!
And a merry one to you , too, Woodsy (and everyone else)
