Hello Woodsy, all the best for a creative and blogworthy New Year! Moonbase really keeps me anchored in a community now Facebook has become so awful! In

I actually produced a finished image for the title of my puppet film on the last day of 2024, so I'm feeling as if I'm finally achieving something!

Just filmed on the floor of my studio with a camera and software I'd never used before, the final results were "good enough"

This probably isn't really blogworthy, but i thought you'd like to share my small triumph and enthusiasm for the future!

As the Great Chriswell said,

"Everyone is interested in the future, because it's where you and I will spend the rest of our lives"!

Browsing Worthpoint this New Year I re-found some old fiends seen years ago on MC.

Here's the Space Explorer set by Roxy, a flagrant rip-off of Multiple Toymakers Golden Astronaut and Triang's SpaceX toy lines.

I've always liked the little pink space car in the middle. I had one many years ago.

This Space and Beyond baggy contains Golden Astronaut aplenty for just $2.99

Last but not least, the gorgeous Surveyor 2, boxed as part of the Golden Astronaut range.

I wonder if there really were 'engineer's drawings'?

SCOOP'S LOOK BACK AT 2024

As New Year approaches, time to look back at some of the high points I enjoyed in 2024.

One thing I always enjoy is meeting up with fellow fans at various events, and 2024 had plenty to offer.

Here’s some of the photos I took:

The regular Smallspace event, which takes place in the picturesque village of Hanslope is always popular with Sci-fi modellers with a heavy bias towards film and TV related stuff. Sometimes we even get the odd guest!

The Cromford Mills Comic Con, formally the Cromford Mills Model display has grown over time into an extremely popular event.

The Secret Service Location tour was a fabulous event, and one I particularly enjoyed

The London Space:1999 Convention was also a great success.

I’ll wish you all a happy and peaceful New Year and here's to the further adventures 2025 has to offer.

New Year's Ray

I added a new ray gun to the collection so as to be able to take my Remco helmet nerd pic. This one is a Razer Ray Gun made in China either in the late '80s or in the '90s - not sure which. The mechanism works but it has a crack in the housing.
