re. Star Force toy box art ..

This is what I mean about the similarity. The other building is also from an Angus McKie painting but not a Hooded Swan cover.

THE THING FROM ANOTHER TOY

I saw this Thing online and saved the pic 'cos I thought that's right up our street.

A custom job in the style of Aurora packaging, the figure itself is more a toy than a model. Not sure what the maker used to make it. Could be an Action Man/ GI Joe.

I remember the movie itself scaring the bejebus out of me as a kid as I watched it on the telebox in black and white. Such creepy music and magnificent filming.

SIXTEEN 12 MICRO EAGLES

As a last gasp to Breakaway day here's a few photos showing the prototypes of the soon to be released (hopefully) Sixteen 12 Micro Eagles!

RIP Andy Yanchus

Hi,
Sad news. Andy Yanchus, who worked for Aurora from 1965 to 1975 and was responsible for many classic Aurora kits, passed away on 11th September 2021.

He was also a modeller, and historian, and worked with Max from Max's Models on The Aurora Files. He also co-authored a book on the Aurora Monster Scenes kits.
This is the tribute to Mr Yanchus by Max.

MATTEL EAGLE 1 SPACESHIP

A final Space:1999 celebration of Breakaway day, this time it's a few photos of the wonderful Mattel Eagle, one of my favourite items of vintage 1999 merchandise.

SPACE: 1999 POWER RECORDS

Before the time of VHS, DVD'S and streaming all most of us had if we wanted to revisit our favourite TV series in the mid seventies was recordings of TV shows on compact cassette recorders , remember them, and Power Records. These discs contained recordings of selected episodes made using non of the original cast!

Come on, who had these at the time?

The first season disc contained three TV episodes, while the second season one contained two TV episodes and two original stories.

As well as the long players, there was two singles, each with an accompanying comic: One was 'Breakaway', and the other was one of the original stories about the Alphans travelling through time and visiting biblical times!
