When I saw this badge online I realised that I know nothing about Bessie. I assume it was Dr. Who's car during the Pertwee years, which is odd because I was there.

Is Bessie a car you're familiar with?

Was it released as a toy?

Typically while looking for something else I found my Job Folder of samples with the first marker 'comp'

- (comprehensive sketch) that I did on that project to see what the client wanted.

PIXAR Anyone?

We bought 5 dvds for a pound yesterday! They are virtually being given away!

Anyways three of them are Disney Pixar movies. We've seen two last night, Wall E and Monsters Inc. Just The Incredibles to go.

We've seen them all afore. These are for Junior in a holiday house coming up soon. We tested the quality. Thats our excuse anyway!

Wall E struck me as an updated ET for a new generation, now nearly 13 years older! We loved Wall E and its message of not quite ecogeddon but nearly seems bang on now! Very clever animation and really quite charming. Would you agree?

The same can be said for Monsters Inc, now 20 years old. Inspired writing and animation, which kid couldn't resist Mike and Sully's hilarious antics?  What do you say?

Pixar seemed to have their finger on the cartoon pulse back then. Disney clearly benefitted. Are Pixar still a force to be reckoned with?

Aircraft Cockpit Toys

Hi   Yet more fabulous toys I have never seen before, the Fly Jimmy Jet from Deluxe Reading in the USA.

An aircraft cockpit with lots of controls, and a missile launcher atop the instrument panel. The first of these film clips shows the box as well.

Now the Ideal Fighter Jet, which is along the same lines. It projects an image of various aircraft on the wall, which you can engage with rubber-tipped darts. Wow.

The Pam Am Dual Control Jet Cockpit by Remco is based on a jet airliner, and has two control columns, with working headphones for both pilots.

MYSTERY JAPANESE ANIME CARD DISK

Woodsy,

A while ago you blogged about "The X from Outer Space". Today I received this amongst the packing papers in a ebay purchase (seller sells alot of horikawa robots etc). 

I have no idea how old it is or what its meant to be used for. Approx 3 1/2" (90mm) diameter with a couple of small notches, thin card. The back has some Japanese writing crossed out. 

The 77777275 is too short for a modern phone no (japan has 10 digits) unless the prefix is missing. I'm baffled- any of your readers got a clue? Drinks coaster????

We recently visited the Dent Heritage Centre in the glorious Yorkshire Dales.

The remote gorgeous and cobbled village of Dent is in the magnificent Deepdale and its Heritage Centre offers robust Dales food for the intrepid traveler and hiker.
