It's true. You can't possibly have everything as a kid.
I had my eye on something my cousin Andy had. He'd got it from a relative in the States circa 1967 or 8. I'm not even sure you could get it in Blighty!
Yep, envy. Green I was.
The toy was the magnificent and marvellous Strange Change Machine!
He could make his own dinosaurs!
God how I wanted it!

I always envied the kids who had battery operated versions of toys, as they were too expensive for my family.
ReplyDeleteI had to settle for the cheaper push around, or friction drive ones.
As spoiled as I was, I was always wanting more, pleading with the parents to buy me this or that expensive toy in the toy store, and wishing I had what the neighbor kids had. One particular memory was of a neighbor kid who had the Multiple Toymakers Fireball XL-5 set - good god how I wanted that! SFZ
