I had to look twice when I saw this chocolate in the Yorkshire Trading Co!
Don't think it's related to the cult TV series though!
And speaking of peaked chocolate, are you one of those people who can see the standing bear on the Toblerone logo or not?

One of my top favorite TV shows. Never noticed a Toblerone bear (bought one today) but now that you mention it, yes I do
ReplyDeleteHa ha, spread the word about the bear Baron!
DeleteWhat synchronicity! I was just making a chocolate bar for my puppet film.
ReplyDeleteIt's a parody of Fry's Five Boys chocolate.
Do any of you Boomers remember eating some before it was discontinued in 1972?
I certainly did and I wanted to share the love!
I loved Frys as a kid Looey especially the mint cream bar and the fruit cream bar. I don't remember Five Boys alas. I was looking at a bar in a museum last week! Good luck with your Frys parody.
DeleteI can see the bear now - but only because you pointed it out.
ReplyDeleteHee hee, glad you see it Paul. Not everyone can!
DeleteI believe Twin Peaks bars were produced for Poundland in 2017, so goodness knows how old these are. They did have some copyright problems with Mondelez over the Toblerone-type shape, which I believe they got around by rounding off the corners and changing the spacing of the blocks. As a bargain alternative to Toblerone I remember them being quite acceptable. I don't think they had any copyright problems from ABC over the name, I don't expect anyone from the US was aware of Poundland...!
ReplyDeleteFascinating insights. It's the first Twin Peaks bar I've seen. They must be still being made!
DeleteIf you enlarge the photograph, there is much mysterious writing upon the wrapper. Firstly, it says 'Inspired by the Wrekin & Ercall Hills', which I had to look up (because I have never heard of them before), and discovered they are in Shropshire - so somewhere in England.
ReplyDeleteMilk Chocolate with Almond & Honey Nougat.

Very mysterious.
Fascinating Paul. Ive heard of the Wrekin but never been. Glad to see they're not out of date,!
