I went to see Predator Badlands at the local Vue cinema last night. I loved the film, really enjoyable in a Pitch Black sort of way, with some fun nods at it's AVP ancestry.
The thing that struck me being out were the number of Christmas trees in the mall. All the restaurants had big ones up already, with a many restaurants totally trimmed up.
I'm fairly sure that the whole of November is now part of Christmas, beginning immediately after Halloween!
What do you think?

Neat Badlands Promo card pack
being given away at our Vue Cinema.

It is, but it shouldn't be.
ReplyDeleteAs I've said before, the Christmas period should start no earlier than a month before Christmas day (so Nov 27th, or maybe 25th, if you want to be generous)
Anything before that just drags it on so much, that when the day actually arrives, it's bound to be a big disappointment.
I suppose it's a money spinner Mish. What I don't get is there's never any growth here, despite all these constant reasons marketeers create for more shopping! It'll be Easter in January!
DeleteIn New Zealand, by the time you get to Halloween the Christmas decorations have already been out for a month or so, and Christmas music is playing in the supermarkets. And the Easter Eggs are out straight after Christmas, about January.
ReplyDeleteHak ha, I e just said that Paul. Yep, Easter is now in January, with a slight pause for Valentines!
