I picked these up last month, a bundle of old metal planes and copters.
The green jet is Japanese tinplate, the rest are cast metal.
The small headless plane at the bottom is a cap banger I think.
Most of the cast models have the names of the planes on the undercarriage.
An interesting bunch.
Oh boy, I'll take that tin green Starfighter, please! SFZ
ReplyDeleteJust need wheels SF!
DeleteGreen tinplate - Lockheed F-104 Starfighter
ReplyDeleteRed biplane - Albatros
Cream biplane - Sopwith Camel ?
Monoplane in American markings - North American P-51D Musttang
Monoplane in Japanese markings - Mitsubishi A6M Zero
Green helicopter - early Bell UH-1 Iroquois, or Huey
Not sure about the yellow helicopter
Fab Paul, thanks! Great info!
DeleteNice haul Woodsy! I have the green tin-litho jet, but my version has a lever on the side which, when pulled back, activates the spring motor and makes the plane rush forward.
ReplyDeleteWow, a lever! How cool Ed!
DeleteNice going, Woodsy! I'd like to pick up a Dinky Spitfire in any condition, for a pretend toy for my puppet film. But having seen them kicking around all my life, do you think I can find one now?
ReplyDeleteI need a Spitfire as the basis of my filming miniature and again, my memories are way out of date.
You used to be able to pick a nice 1/16 scale (Blue Box?) Toy, but not these days!
I've had to settle for a trio of Trumpeter 1/24 scale kits, northwards of £50 each!
Maybe I can find a Dinky style Spit on my upcoming trip to Melbourne...
Fingers crossed in Melbourne Looey!
