One of the many mystery items I've bought this last twelve months was this small plastic horror mask. It remain unidentified, if you have any ideas readers.
Its a sort of blue, squidgy, gooey monster face
The mouth is open and drooling.
Inside the mask is a small plastic brace or fastener of some kind. Did it fasten onto something?
Any clue?
Not a clue, but It has a Mad Balls look to it. They apparently did make Halloween masks but I can't say if this an official release or a knockoff of some kind.
ReplyDeleteYes, now you mention it, it does have that Mad Balls look. Had a good look round the Mad Balls community and can't see this mask but thanks for the tip.
Delete"I'm sorry Dave, Google Lens can't identify it. It's origin and purpose remain a mystery..."
ReplyDeleteha ha, thanks for trying HAL!
DeleteLooks like The Toxic Avenger from the 80s, to me.
ReplyDeleteOr failing that, a gooey Quasimodo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
ha ha, I like it, it does look toxic Mish!
DeleteI can see that it may be a knock off madball mask as most of the official masks were rubber full head units. That said, I did not come across any matches.
ReplyDeleteI also thought maybe it was someone's odd take on a kappa mask given the indent on top of the head. Sadly that did not lead me to a match.
I also see a lot of the hunchback in this, more Charles Laughton not Lon CHaney though.
But I think the big clue as to what this may be is that it isn't a mask as it appears to not have any eye or nose holes in it and the brace inside would keep it way off the face. It also appears to be very small so maybe it is part of a playset.
I've no idea at this time though.
Thanks for trying Lance, always a pleasure.
DeletePerhaps a Halloween decoration or store display item,?
ReplyDeleteCould be.
DeleteOn Dec thought it seems rather small, must be part of a larger toy. Don't know.
