I have just discovered a US toy company I have never heard of, and so far I have not been able to dig up anything on them.
Have you ever heard of Tri-Play Toys Inc., 4757 N. Ravenswood Ave., Chicago 40, Illinois ?
I do not know how Art Linkletter fits in, although he did endorse various toys and games.
The company seems to have been active in the 1950s. The lack of a ZIP Code supports an early date. This card back shows some pretty bizarre toys. Well worth looking at, if I can find any information.
Paul Adams from New Zealand
They made a series of inexpensive rack toys with lots of play value. I had a couple of their crash mobiles.
ReplyDeleteThere was an unlicensed Aston Martin James Bond version as well.
ReplyDeleteHow obscure! I had the Crash-Mobile! SFZ
ReplyDeleteLakeside toys made the crashmobile after tri play ended as a company.
ReplyDeleteThank you. A very obscure company, but they did make some pretty weird toys.
ReplyDeleteThat Moon Satellite sounds interesting. But, Um... how does a free coupon plus 35 cents work? It's hand delivered, so it's not for postage!
ReplyDeleteyes, wonder what the Moon Satellite looked like?
ReplyDeleteFascinating snippet Paul, thanks. I've a bullfighter in my posts archive so I'll post it today. Could be Tri-Play. You never know!
ReplyDeleteWell Paul, Tri-Play is a new one on me! Interesting!
