I bought this East German Anker Jupiter space vehicle in .. East Germany!
Visiting Berlin years ago but after the wall was down.
I found the toy in a Potsdam junk shop.
The shop had a Lunokhod as well.
Jupiter was missing its rocket.
It still looks good though.
Alas, the remote unit is toast.
Going through Customs at the time, some careless searching by personnel snapped the rocket launcher in half.
It's all part of Jupiter's journey.
Have you got one?
How about a Jupiter 8? https://katrinjaneway.blogspot.com/2013/07/captain-kirk-and-gene-winfields-car.html
ReplyDeleteWow thats one amazing car Baron! Wonder if it's a kit too?
DeleteWhat a great design! I've never seen it before, but it is vaguely reminiscent of Tamiya's 1968 Jupiter 2 moon tank, which also had a big missile... -two actually!
ReplyDeleteIt is a good one Looey. You can see the Jupiter rocket here on this great site about East German toys (Soviet) https://www.puppenhausmuseum.de/ddr-spielzeug-4-1.html Anker did a non-rocket version too with just a Radar. I've a big coffee table book in German on old DDR toys. Fascinating stuff.
