Here is another video from Matteline 1967, looking at various kits, mainly by Airfix, and how the parts were used on various vehicles and buildings in Thunderbirds.
Most of the kits are from the Airfix Trackside range, such as the Footbridge, Travelling Crane, railway Signal Gantry, and others; along with the SR.N1 Hovercraft. There are also a few US kits by Revell and AMT.

Ha! I thought the YouTuber's name was Mattel-ine as i the toy company, when it's actually Matte-line as in the visual effect!
ReplyDeleteGreat analysis of the TB kit bashing process.
I like his other videos on building the Proteus from Fantastic Voyage. Great viewing and very inspiring as I have this kit. I hope to make it up one day, with added internal detail like the engines and propulsion ducts and working lights.
As a model railroader in the US, it was always a thrill when I was able to snap up an Airfix Trackside kit, which were quite rare here in the states. Airfix plane kits were quite common here, but the OO gauge RR kits were not. The designs were so interesting to me, quite different than the German building kits I primarily gravitated towards. SFZ
ReplyDeleteGreat film Paul. I was never a modeller as a kid and am always amazed by kids who were. I can see why professionals use and used model kits like the C21 team did. Clever stuff.
