A quick flit round a local car boot with the Granddaughter garnered a few things for Grandad and lots of stuff for her. Grandma just supplied the dosh!
See what you think.
In short I picked up two Asterix rubber painted figures from 1984. Here's Obelix. The other is a harpist, the name of whom eludes me.
... a modern articulated Captain Kirk figure, brand unknown
... and an unusual miniature Action Man figure I'd never seen before, which I've found out is from a range called A.T.O.M Night Ops.
I also invested in a very large plastic Harrier Jump Jet, which I thought would fit Action Man, but getting it home I realised its too small. Marked HM Armed Forces, its for smaller 8" figures from that range. Still I shall enjoy cleaning it and replacing a few parts.
Pictures to follow.
Looking forward to that
ReplyDeleteThe Asterix character pictured is in fact the village chief Vitalstatistix. The village bard is Cacofonix.
ReplyDelete(Thanks Uderzo & Goscinny for endless hours of Asterix fun as a kid!)
And thank you Arto, I clearly don't know my obelix from my asterix! Ha ha
DeleteHi Woodsy, Your Captain Kirk is not Bill Shatner, it's Chris Pine from The 2009 JJ Abrams directed 'Star Trek' Movie and the figure is by Playmates (they also did 6 & 12 inch figures) A.T.O.M. was Hasbro's replacement for their 12 Action Man reboot line. A.T.O.M. stood for 'Alpha Teens On Machines' As for the HMAF Harrier, the figures were 10inches but i've seen at least two YouTubers converting them for other Military and G.I. Joe Classified line figures. hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteHey thanks Spectrum Steve, really helpful! I'm having fun making a blister for the Harrier cockpit at the mo. Bodger special!
