Sooo, I've been busying myself of late with inventorying and photographing some of The Hoard.
I've only plowed through two tote bins but found things in them I had totally forgotten about and a couple things I thought I had sold off years ago but am happy to say still reside out in The Cave.
It started with a tote bin of Western/Old West toys then progressed to a tote filled with Lionel Pre-war O-gauge trains. The Old West bin had enough spare parts to make several complete wagons (Chuck wagons, covered wagons, stagecoaches, etc.), while the Lionel tote had engines and rolling stock I haven't run since the mid-to-late '90s.
So far, I've blogged most of the wagons [on my blog Toys 'n' Stuff], and the trains have been featured in a couple of Y'allTube videos.
Enjoy [this sample]!

Very nice. It is always good to come across something you had forgotten about.
ReplyDeleteI've been doing that a lot this past year Paul - going through bins and finding hidden treasures. It's been fun.
DeleteLovely to see the old Lionel. I love the chunky build quality of these old trains. After all, they were sold as toys back then. I have a few myself. Here in the UK , many came over with the American servicemen during the war. A couple of mine were bought from the P X on the airbases locally by the airmen and somehow remained here after the war. Will post some pics when I get a chance. Will O.
ReplyDeleteYes, those were simpler times when toys were just that - not collectibles, not über detailed scale models - just toys
DeleteGreat models Ed, you must have some serious toys squirreled away. I love the Lionel space and military models, with rocket launchers and satellite wagons. Its a shame they never appeared in Blighty Bill
ReplyDeleteThanx Bill! Yes, I have so much that hasn't been blogged or photographed. Unfortunately The Cave has become so full, there's no room to set up the toys and playsets for proper photography.
DeleteMagnificent Toy Trains! SFZ
ReplyDeleteThank you!
