I picked a few toys up at a Sunday sale last weekend.
The large 12" figure is a talking Thunderbirds Hood from Vivid in the 90's. More to come on this.
Hoody was joined by a lovely Speed Kings Fire Chief car and a stubbornly unresponsive Corgi Esprit.
Polar Mission Man came out of the 90's cold too.
A 60's Brutus, the Palitoy Mountie mutt, wasn't too impressed with him.
This 70's Zee Motorbike was a snip at 10 pence!
Maybe my best buy at just one Pound was this First Generation Transformer from 1987 called Quickmix.
This 10 pence box figure stumped me.
Last but not least, this little fella said Halo and jumped on board.
The Fire Chief car/Hot Rod looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt is Paul, I liked it as soon as I saw it. Not one I had as a kid, dated 1974. Very little paint wear, just some chroming needed with my chrome pen. Its a an odd choice for a Fire Chief car. Like you say, a Hot Rod perhaps.
DeleteI have found a second version of the Hot Rod car Paul. Green. Called T Rod.
DeleteNice variety of finds. Woodsy. Brutus was far more imposing than the rare Pedigree mutt which came with the Tommy Gunn MP :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tone. I've just looked up that Pedigree dog and I see what you mean. It's quite a sweet looking pooch!
DeleteTony K
ReplyDeleteCertainly a pup with a pedigree, Woodsy :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Action Boxer Tone!
DeleteThat Esprit was just a problematic toy. Mine worked fine for the fins to pop out but the tail didn't always deploy fully. I disliked that the wheels were hidden which made it look off as just a car. One of the 4 missle tubes loved to just fire if you just looked at it.
ReplyDeleteThat Quickmix is a great find. If you had the 2 Targetmaster figures that came with it, you'd be looking at about a $50 figure. He's listed as being very rare amongst the G1 Autobots.
Zee motorcycles were a fave of mine as a kid. I seem to recall the pin holding the front forks on was never properly secured and would work its way out. I also recall the plastic bit of the front forks around that pin being rather fragile and splitting under normal kid use. Or maybe I crashed more often than other kids lol.
I've got the Esprit' s rear fin array out Lance but it didn't like it. None of the buttons work. I may try some WD40 spray but at the moment the Lotus is clean and in the vitrine like the Quickmix. Thanks for the info. I was chuffed with it. I'm drawn to GEN1 Transformers. Yep, the Zee bike is lovely with all the detail on it. I think my fave bike as a kid was the Britain's Police Motorcycle with rider. God I loved it!
DeleteYour mystery yellow turbaned chap remains mysterious. Google Lens decided it had to be Mr T and barely looked elsewhere. There was a yellow helmeted Lanyard construction worker, but it's not him!
ReplyDeleteTa for looking Looey. Yep, he's a mystery man.
DeleteAction figures are well outside my usual area, but the gentleman in the yellow turban looks like something from Sinbad, or perhaps a pirate ?
