Much is being made of the prevalence of A.I in imaging and text generation. It has become so good that it can actually write dissertations for students which are technically and grammatically identical to work produced by a human writer. Photography competitions are being won by A.I generated content, beating professional photographers hands down and probably everyone has spent time resolving a query with a chatbot at some point.
CHATGPT is one of the most accomplished A.I's and has been thoroughly tested by scientists and the general public. It is available to use as a beta test online and I have tried it with a number of queries, just to see what it might do.
Out of curiosity I asked it this:
"can you create a short blog article for https://projectswordtoys.blogspot.com/ 'Moonbase Central' about space toys ?"
In a few seconds, it provided me with a response:
"Space toys have captivated the imaginations of children (and adults) for generations. From toy rockets and ray guns to action figures and playsets, space-themed toys have allowed us to explore the final frontier from the comfort of our own homes.
One standout space toy line that is sure to transport you to a world of intergalactic adventure is "Moonbase Central" by Project Sword Toys. This imaginative toy line features a central command center surrounded by various space-themed playsets and vehicles, all designed with incredible attention to detail.
The Moonbase Central playset itself is a true centerpiece, featuring a control room with a large monitor, a laboratory with a working microscope, and an airlock that leads to an exterior platform with a rover and satellite dish. The playset also includes a detachable rocket with a removable cockpit and opening cargo bay, perfect for launching missions to other planets.
To complement the central command center, the Moonbase Central toy line also includes various other space-themed playsets, including a lunar mining station and an alien research outpost. These sets come with their own unique vehicles, such as a mining drill and an alien spaceship, to help bring the imaginative play to life.
In addition to the playsets, the Moonbase Central toy line also includes a wide range of action figures, including astronauts, aliens, and robotic drones. Each figure is highly detailed and fully poseable, allowing for endless possibilities in the imaginative play.
Overall, if you're looking for a space toy line that will inspire creativity and spark the imagination, look no further than "Moonbase Central" by Project Sword Toys. With its intricate playsets, detailed vehicles, and diverse range of action figures, this toy line is sure to transport you to a world of intergalactic adventure."
Impressive? I think given more detail and a more rigorous instruction, we could easily be hanging up our keyboards in the next few years!
I fear you are more easily impressed than me Wote', I found it to be repetitive, dim and a bit disingenuous, turning questions into long-winded 'answers'! The above is basically fluff and nonsense, and if you gave it more specifics, it would just drop them in the same over-wordy paragraphs without context. It would make a great politician . . . "As an IA, I can't really answer for what I've been found doing by your investigative reporters, as I was instructed to do it by a thord party, but would like to point out that the opposition have behaved much worse"
ReplyDeleteH
And Google needs an AI bot to sort out these comment glitches, it's getting annoying!
Ha ha well said Hugh! Maybe I am too fond of sci fi and want it to be correct! Bill
Deleteand by the way - which response was the real Maverick ?
ReplyDeleteHahaha! You can delete the first one, it's not all Blog's, but I have problems with yours, Ed's and mine!
DeleteI think there's a certain camaraderie(A.I. spelling check?)among bloggers and readers at Moonbase that A.I.cannot yet appreciate and reciprocate. Prove me wrong,Chatbot!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy my writing. If everything is AI, where is the fun for humans ? I will keep on modelling, collecting, writing, and having fun.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of Syndrome in The Incredibles who used technology to compensate for his lack of ability.
DeleteAs he said, his technology would make anyone super "And when everyone is Super, No one is..."
It reminds me of the Infinite Monkey Theorem! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_monkey_theorem
ReplyDeleteNot impressed at all. It sounds like a generic sales pitch, and as others mentioned, no specifics or details. Just fluff and nonsense. That answer is as fake as those horrible CGI effects in the Hollywood movies, which never, ever, look anything like “the real thing,” no matter how hard they try. Yet another failed use of oh-so-wonderful “Science.” SFZ
ReplyDeleteI would buy that playset if it existed...but it does NOT. The hallucination problem with these large language models makes them entirely unreliable in terms of guaranteed accuracy, and as of today anyone depending on them to write term papers deserves whatever grade they may receive.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Did anybody else notice that the ChatBot talked about the Moonbase Central blog as if it were an actual line of Space Toys? In fact, this AI nitwit got the entire concept completely WRONG! All it really did was generate some generic blather which sounds like it could have spewed from the PowerBook of the laziest Madison Avenue hack! Count me way out of this “dumb and dumber” future!
DeleteSeems to be in the news every day now, something generated by AI.
ReplyDeleteHaving just read this about a fake AI article on Schumacher I'm beginning to worry AI will just create a global tsunami of fakery! https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/65333115
ReplyDeleteit's interesting but I'm not ready to hang up my keyboard just yet - and I'm not lettin' it in the house to take photos of my toys either! LOL
ReplyDeleteMy phone offers me an AI colour pallette in the photo edit facility now! It's takin over!
