I just liked this when I saw it on auction so I saved the pic.
The compartmented card art recalled my beloved Colurforms Outer Space Men.
The old graphics of muskets and drums takes me right back to the Sixties and Seventies.
I would have loved this as my light switch plate. You?
I would have loved it too. I never saw anything like this in New Zealand, just boring, plain white plastic. The card says: Manufactured for and copyrighted 1972 by Nevco Products Co. Inc., Yonkers, N.Y. 10701 - Made in British Hong Kong. So that gives us a date.
ReplyDeleteDid you mean the 1960s or the 1860s ?
ha ha, I meant the 1960's Paul, my childhood years. Oddly enough I saw the very same waste bin I had in my bedroom in a junk shop recently. It was metal and pictured old timer cars around it, which were a popular graphic at the time. I even had old timer car wall paper!
DeleteA futuristic one with a 'sci fi airlock' vibe, I would have loved. This one, with its American Civil War look, not really.
ReplyDeleteYep, an airlock, that would have been cool Mish!
DeleteI've just noticed the word Outlet on the card. Is that the American term for a switch? Or is it a socket?
