I'm very pleased with my latest charity shop purchase for the princely sum of £1. Only when I got home I found I’d already got it! Have any other readers bought something forgetting they’d already got it? What was it? Or is it just me!
Did it only recently. Bought an old vinyl album of TV themes, got it home, played it, then stared at the sleeve for a bit. Eventually realised I already had it, just an earlier release, with a different coloured border. Ah well, it was only three quid !
I wish I had run across that version of his album! All I ever saw here was the black cover once at Texas Tapes and Records. I passed on it and bought 8 or so of the numbered Rocky Horror Picture Show picture discs instead. Financially it was a better deal for me.
I've accidentally bought duplicates of some Hot Wheels over the years. There were some novels I ended up with multiple copies because they changed the cover art and renamed it but the stories inside were the same.
That was long before ebay was created, back in the BBS days of the proto internet. I sold them to local cast members and at conventions I worked at. They went fairly quick but not as quick as the radio spot 45s I had for RHPS that were voiced by Richard O'Brien.
I have done that several times with books, DVDs, die-casts, and kits.
ReplyDeleteMe too!

Happens to us all Lance. How did you sell the Rocky Horror picture discs? Ebay?
