The Percival Mew Gull (not New Gull) was a British racing aircraft, first flown in 1934. The aircraft shown on the card, civil registration G-ACDN, was the first of five built. Both flying and non-flying replicas have been built. From a time when biplanes still ruled the skies.
Wow - that Perceval New Gull and the racing plane are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThe nice thing about the Perceval New Gull is it's similarity to the aircraft in the then new movie: Things to Come
DeleteIts a nice touch having the recognition silhouettes on the back, too. Bill
ReplyDeleteAnother great card set. Thank you for giving a look at them, and the backs. I like the silhouettes too.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Terran. Somewhere I've got my Dad's proper plane silhouette ID card from WW2 that looks like these cards.
