I recently saw this MSV on Ebay restored by Chillypepperpike of Eastbourne. Unusually its been restored in black and brings to mind Captain Black of the Mysterons perhaps. I like it.
What do you think?

Looks ideal for Batman.
ReplyDeleteBatman, Exactly!
DeleteIf the trim lines were in chrome it would be the Green Hornet...!
Yes! I see what you mean Scott. Green Hornet MSV!
DeleteWhat would the Joker get the Kev?
Delete... then Kev! Doh!
DeleteI think the Pink Panther car, possibly painted purple.
DeleteI regretfully bought 3 restored dinky toys of him a few years back,my ufo interceptor was wrapped so tight in bubble wrap the landing skids were nearly snapped off.My MSV on opening the doors took all the paint off the door edges as it hasn't dried and my shado mobile had sticky undried silver
ReplyDeletePainted tracks.....apart from that they were great.
Yikes. Did you tell the seller Tony?
DeleteYes I had to send them all back via ebay returns, I didn't have the time or energy so just gave them away to charity shop.Ive had similar experiences with nearly all code 3 vehicles from ebay
DeleteI guess I've not been lucky.
Blimey, I bet they made someone happy going in that Charity shop Tony! I suppose Code 3 is by its nature fan-made.
DeleteI'm working (slowly) on some fake tin toy SPVs and one is a dark blue "Mysteron ENEMY" version!
ReplyDeleteIntriguing Looey!
ReplyDeleteYou're right Woodsy, it's very Captain Black.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been great if, in the series, it had been a Mysteronised MSV, specially repurposed for Black's use.
Think of the dramatic car chases it could have featured in !
Yes! Like Scalextric round hair-pin bends, Black after Scarlet and then the inevitable crash!
