Just finished this MPC kit of Vincent from The Black Hole. Been trying to track one of these down for years. Had to scratchbuild a few bits and fake the decals but hey ho.
The Black Hole is one of my guilty pleasures. There's a decent story and design world struggling under all those wrong decisions! The definitive space version of Captain Nemo is still out there somewhere... -just beyond the event horizon!
Thanks. I must admit it's a long time since I've seen the film (but I do love a robot). I remember you doing the Cygnus, I would not like to take that on!
The Cygnus is certainly a unique design, Kev. The big downside to the kit, apart from the fragile display stand is you need infinite patience to paint the girder detail.
Has he still got the chrome brain Kev? I had the kit on release, but it ended up in bits. Ive still got the brain part though. Still got 90% of maximillian, but I made a right hash of his arms!
Not one of my favourites,The Black Hole, I'm afraid. Naff 'kiddie' plot, kitch robots and a spaceship that looks like Kew Gardens ?! Nice job with the model though Kev.
Nice model. The third photo seems to show he's off to make ice cubes!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yep, he's very versatile, I didn't even photograph him with his cocktail shaker attachment!

Nice model,Kev. I've got Max and the Cygnus. I'm very fond of the Black Hole, and to many sci fi movie fans it is still a cult favourite.

ReplyDeleteYep, he's got the brain, safely under his hat!

Thanks. You do get some good robots on screen sometimes, even if the rest of it can occasionally be a let down.
