I'm amused at how the 60s never really guessed how technology would advance. IBM thought there was only a market for about five or six computers in the entire world! In 2001:A Space Odyssey, Stanley Kubrick had an office briefcase for Dr. Heywood Floyd that included a typewriter with a video camera to look at what he'd just typed and radio it back to Earth...
ReplyDeleteIn a master stroke of future proofing the film, this obsolete as soon as it was dreamed up gizmo was left on the cutting room floor!
Now, if only Stanley had envisaged touch screens...
