Further to ET., My wife loved the movie at first viewing back when it was released.
On our next wedding anniversary I served her breakfast in bed using this tray bought for the occasion. The tray has not been used since.
On the next visit to the UK after seeing the movie and before it was released there I took Reese's Pieces for my young cousins so they could experience them when seeing the film.
At that time 1982, Reese's Pieces were not sold in the UK, before the movie they were barely known in the USA, Supposedly M&M's by Mars were to be used but Mars declined to promote the movie as a tie-in.

What a lovely tray to serve breakfast on. And condition like new!
ReplyDeleteAlthough E.T. merchandise was aplenty at the time of the release of the film, oddly enough my E.T. mania never translated into a collecting mania. Except for the E.T. Box Set, which was my treasure. Still have it. What added to its lure was collaboration with Michael Jackson, another hero of mine.

There is, however, one avid collector of E.T. merchandise in Finland that I know of: Mr. Lordi, frontman of the band Lordi who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006

I agree Arto, a tray in fine nick that. And your box set looks ace. Never seen that before. I think I have ET on big box VHS.
