I remember the car ferry, but didn't have it. The bath toy I DO remember was a polythene tug/fireboat with a water cannon on the bow. When you pumped the smokestack up and down the cannon squirted water! I remember dismantling and reassembling it to see how it worked!
You can get that very one in the picture on Amazon Terran! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Giplam-Ferryboat-Large-One-Size/dp/B000OZLDOI/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=giplam&qid=1603048015&sr=8-7
Woodsy, that's the exact one! As I remember it, mine had a red hull, yellow deck and blue cannon! Funny how those memories trigger others. It's reminded me of a diving set from the same period. I'll go ask Mr. Google...

DeleteThere was a fireboat that looked like this made by Tudor Rose in the 50's. It was great bath time fun.
DeleteI saw the ferry and carrier on sale in Venice some years ago but the vendor wasn't there the next time I passed so wasn't able to buy them.

DeleteGreat- reminds me of the sort of boats I used to have at the seaside. Always losing small bits in the sea.
ReplyDeleteGreat times and memories Andy. Toy boats at the seaside. Happy days.
