Holiday snaps are a thing of the past. Well showing them at least.
Yawns and moans would break out as the bulging Kodak folder was produced back in the day.
Not any more. Its all digital and you can just walk away!
So, to the sound of mass groaning, here are a few impressions of our recent mini-break in the picturesque and historic English counties of Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.
Remote lighthouse on the River Nene.
Beautiful maritime building in Kings Lynn
Lonely barn on the shore.
Another Neneland lighthouse
The ancient cobbled alleys of Kings Lynn
Harbour lights in Kings Lynn
Old moored boat
Old drydocked boat in samphire
The mighty Ely cathedral
There were some old toys too!
To follow.
Atmospheric and evocative. I love lighthouses, theres something inherently eerie and mysterious about them
ReplyDeleteYes. Houses of light. Almost church-like. I agree Wote. The two on the Nene estuary were on opposite banks. Like the two towers.
DeleteNice shots! My wife and I have bunches of similar pics from our last holiday in the UK.
ReplyDeleteShe shot tons of reference for her graphic novel.
(It's about the Court of King Henry VIII populated with dinosaurs -as you do...)
I like holiday shots. Not sure how they'll be passed down the family. I got a big bpx of prints when my parents passed away - the family archive! Love your wife's book idea! ha ha. Old ' Enery was a bit of tyrannical rex!
DeleteI think a slide show to the tune of Genesis " Home by the sea" would be cool
ReplyDeleteNow that's a good idea Brian! I used to love Genesis in the 70's.
