Mego/Takara Micronauts are one of the greatest action figure lines ever made. At an average size of 3", the figures are extremely poseable and expressive. Released around the time of the first wave of Kenner Star Wars figures, they knocked the rigid Luke Skywalker and staid Darth Vader into a cocked hat. Even the modern Star Wars releases pale into insignificance compared to the ingenuity and style of figures released way back in 1980.
Besides the Time Travellers, with their clear bodies, there were the egyptianate Pharoids with their neat Time Chambers.
However, far and away my favourite of the original 1980 line were the aliens. Repto, the flying green lizard, Antron the purple insectoid and Membros, the orange pulpy alien.
With interchangeable weapons and backpacks, these three beauties didn't see a European release, so I had to wait a couple of decades before I could get them!
The series was briefly re-released by Pallisades figures in the mid noughties, but due to production issues with the factory in China, the figures were often flawed or damaged and as a result, the line bombed after a short run.
