Hi Woodsy
I loved the giant scorpion diorama by BrianF, under the blog labels Kaiju and Modelling.
Although I never had any of these kits, I did have a go at making my own version a few years back using a large toy scorpion, and some ready-made N scale model railway buildings, vehicles, and foliage.
It was not mounted on a permanent base, and was only assembled for some photographs, but it was fun to do.
Here are a couple of shots of it.

I like how you out this together Paul. the buildings are excellent. There's a seller on Ebay USA who puts together toys as playsets to recreate B-Movies like The Angry Red Planet.

ReplyDeleteThe set up is really simple. The scorpion is a plastic toy, several ranges include insects as well as lions and elephants. The two building are ready made model railway buildings in self-coloured plastic, I assume N scale; the cars came together in a small box, again N scale; with a couple of model trees; and coloured card. The only work I needed to do was dab some white clouds on to a piece of blue card with a piece of sponge. Instant B movie. I had these items on hand as I vaguely intend to build a model railway layout at some stage. One with monsters.
