Hello Woodsy,
This mug was given to me years ago when I was collecting various taxi related material.
Even though boxed the handle has shattered. I've glued it for photography purposes but I wouldn't trust the glue to hold hot tea.
As the mug rolls on it's wheels and looks like an Austin Mini from the front I think it's future may be as a planter or vase.
Keep well,

That is a great mug, even with the damaged handle. Given the black and white checks is this meant to be a New York Checker cab ?
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice Mug for that New York cuppa Terran. Its a shame when mug handles fail. The same happened to my Darth Vader and my Super Heroes mugs. Not sure how the handles could be strengthened. Its a mugs game! ha ha
ReplyDeleteThe last true Checker Cab ran in NYC back in 1999 but lives on in merchandising. All mugs the larger they get, the weaker seem the handles. This one had the added quirk of rolling away when you put it down.
ReplyDeleteCabbies always drive off quickly for the next pick-up!
ReplyDeleteI have never had a mug with wheels that actually work, just a few with wheels as part of the design, which are a solid part of the mug. That is weird.
