Hi Woodsy,
I see you mentioned a Ghost Rider motorcycle recently, well the only Ghost Rider item I have is this recent Hot Wheels Replica Entertainment Dodge Charger.
It is a 2020 model, and from the same batch as the Thundercats half-track.
It is matt black, has silver window trim and door handles, with 'ghostly' blue flames in translucent light blue plastic around the engine and along the sides, and bizarre blue tyres.
Being from one of the Hot Wheels premium lines it has both a metal body, and a metal baseplate - the name Ghost Rider Charger is cast into the baseplate, and has Real Rider wheels.
It is, of course, considerably more expensive than a regular Hot Wheels toy, and is clearly aimed at adult collectors.

This is such a cool car Paul. I've never seen the Rider on anything other than his hellish chopper but I can well imagine him blasting round in the muscle machine. Hot Wheels are £1.49 here for a standard car in a supermarket. Was this a lot dearer?
ReplyDeleteThe various Hot Wheels premium lines vary, depending both on the range, and where you shop. From about $8 up to about $13 ($2 NZ = one British pound). This one was at the lower end of that range, bought at the Farmers chain of department stores. You might be lucky and get some when they are having a general 20% off toys sale or something. Fewer shops carry the premium lines than the regular $3 Mainline models, and not everyone has the full range, making it harder to get a complete set. Retro Entertainment models usually come out in batches of five, but often a shop will only have two or three of these, meaning a set means visiting several shops in the hope they will have what you want.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul. I suppose it all adds to the thrill of the chase!
