The Sixteen 12 set features a corner of the Eagle hangar, a survey Eagle with additional boosters; a freighter Eagle with pallet and removable winch motor; Eagle pod access stairway, and in-scale hangar personnel.
I decided to add a slightly larger floor, a roof, and some extra walling.
A veritable convocation of Eagles in the nest!
ReplyDeleteIndeed Bill. I suppose the hangar should really be called an eyrie.:D
DeleteAmazing models and set Scoop! These will be snapped up I'm sure. Which bit of the set is yours? It all looks like the real thing!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are, Woodsy. Although, as the set comes with two Eagle variants, this is more expensive than the standard episode sets, but in-spite of that it has almost sold out on the Sixteen 12 website. The bright green hangar walls and part of the base is down to Sixteen 12, the rest I added to give the photos a bit of an added dimension.
DeleteNice work! I'm in a bit of a customizing die cast toys jag myself at the moment, so I really appreciate what you're doing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lewis, much appreciated.:)
DeleteThat is aksuper set-up Scoop! How many Eagles do you think would fit in a full sized hangar?
ReplyDeleteThanks Ed. That's a tough one, your guess is as good mount as mine. The number of fictional Eagles that were supposed to exist in the series seemed to run into hundreds, with several getting blown up occasionally.;)
DeleteIf memory severs, in the episode "The last sunset" where the moon gets an atmosphere. Alan Carter states there are 27 serviceable Eagles on the moon base. This the only reference to the number of eagles on alpha in entire the series. Great pics again.
ReplyDeleteExcellent memory, Derek. I guess I'm going to have to build a bigger hangar ;D
