Missus Moonbase and I visited the stunningly beautiful Yorkshire Dales this Autumn.
The tour took us to Dent in Dentdale and its heritage centre.
A bevvy of vintage tractors greeted us.
along with Pelham's Pinky and Perky hanging
Noddy sleeping
Rupert standing
a horse-drawn cart on the dresser
Vintage tinplate trains
Miniature railway
Welcoming minaitures
Oldtimers [not sure of make]
and in Sedburgh, the book town, a convocation of Eagle Annuals
Have you got any of these toys or annuals?
Looking at your pics, Woodsy, I'd say you had a cracking day out. I could spend hours wandering around these places. So much to see. I like the Pelham Puppets you snapped. They'd make a challenging collection, with so many different childhood characters :)
ReplyDeleteIt was fab Tone ta. Dentdale was like a valley on Mars. Lonely, humanless and breathtaking. My kind of place! The heritage centre in Dent was fun. A veritable museum of rural life. It was quirky seeing toys like Pinky and Perky too. they were hung over the butcher's block!
DeleteI've got the modern Eagle Annual (there are two copies) seen under the 1973 one, and around the mid-'70s, I owned the Yogi Bear equivalent of that bendy Rupert figure.
ReplyDeleteNice one Kid. You have an eclectic collection!I've seen the bendy Noddy and the Rupert a number of times but never a bendy Yogi.
