TV and Movie connections are always fun especially when you're not expecting them.
At the weekend I saw Inglorious Bastards, the modern incarnation by Quentin Tarantino. One of his characters is called Hugo Stigltz, played in the film by Til Schweiger.
Thumbing through Portable Grindhouse, an American book of 1980's video cover art a day later, I was amazed to see, yep, Hugo Stiglitz listed as an actor in a film!
Turns out that Hugo Stiglitz was a B-movie actor - here's his IMDb page - and Tarantino was paying tribute to him in Inglorious!

A separate TV surprise was whilst watching an episode of Thriller, the 1970's ATV supernatural series I adored back then. A few episodes are on You Tube. It was the series with the super eerie theme tune and penned by the fabulously talented Brian Clemens.
I watched an episode called Nurse Will Make It Better starring Diana Dors as a spooky matron looking after a young American woman paralysed after a horse-riding fall. She's the daughter of a US diplomat.
Amidst the creepy atmosphere steps Ed Bishop no less. Yep, Straker from UFO! Ed plays a security guard placed with the diplomat's family and quickly smells a rat as the sinister Nurse weaves her ghastly spell over the house.
Ed plays his role really well and it can't have been too long after UFO.
