Another look at the DeAgostini Mole.
Considered by many to be the most popular pod vehicle behind Thunderbird 4.
The model is in two parts with the Mole section able to completely separate itself from its tilting trolley cradle. The tilting section can also separate itself from the tracked part due to the model's design That's the only downside as it makes the whole model a little flimsy.
The Mole on TV makes its début in the second episode, ‘Pit of Peril’ operated by Scott Tracy. He uses it to tunnel down to the stricken Army Sidewinder and pick up his brother, Virgil. It also appears in the episode, ‘City of Fire’, to drill down under the collapsed Thompson Tower building to rescue the Carter family. In ‘The Duchess Assignment’ it’s used to rescue the Duchess of Royston who’s trapped in a burning country house. It also makes a cameo appearance in ‘Cry Wolf’.
The Mole is carried in Pod 5 in 'Pit of Peril' and Pod 3 in 'City of Fire and 'The Duchess Assignment' ( Although the inside of the pod shows Pod 4)
