Saturn 3.A total cheesefest, sure, but I want to live on that remote station. With a babe like Farrah Fawcett(and NOT with a creepy mad doctor like Harvey Keitel).
Flip of a coin for me, Woodsy. Top of the bill would be James Cameron's ALIENS, Ridley Scott's Blade Runner and John Carpenter's The Thing. One or two others would make the list as well. I think it was a good time for VHS sci fi and horror :)
Western live action movies from the 80's - Salute of the Jugger/Blood of Heroes
and for cartoon/anime movies - Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the Northstar http://www.film.it/fileadmin/mediafiles/film/multimedia/201602/images/628x400/sigla.jpg
I think I have Salute of the Jugger on VHS Ran. Its Rutger Hauer starring aint it? Not familiar with Blood of Heroes. Who's in it? Never seen Fist of the North Star.
Not a film, but the sunset reminds me of the bit in the Planet of the Apes tv series titles. The part with the mounted gorilla soldier holding his rifle aloft with the sun behind him.
I see what you mean Kev, that POTA image is a classic! the other iconic image for me is in the first film with Charlton Athletic Heston where he rides along the beach to discover the fallen head of the Statue of Liberty! i think he screams!

ReplyDeleteAlmost the Unholy Trinity those Tone. Do you think the original Fifties Thing From Another World stands up well against the Carpenter venture?
DeletePersonally, I do , Woodsy! Both are products of their period and both are on my list of fav sci fi films. I like both :)
Deleteme too Tone, I love the original tall alien manoid found in the ice. he was a great monster!

DeleteSpammed
ReplyDeleteA spammed sunset! Just imagine if all light was digital. I suppose even the setting sun could be hacked, spammed and corrupted!
ReplyDeleteWe might be living in a holographic universe anyway! We could all be in a poster on some kid's wall!
ReplyDeleteA holographic universe! I love that! We're just the intermission in a Galactic cinema!
