Here's a slice of nostalgia nestling in my photo archive!
Its my mate Mark [below] and me at our toy stall at the Morley Vintage Toy Fair in October 2005.
We even had our own T-shirts made for Mad About Monsters, my old toy dealer name, which I started that year on Ebay and at fairs like this. I still have my old T-shirt!
Somewhere I'll have the receipts for that Sunday too. They won't have been huge.
We did enjoy ourselves though. It was always a lot more fun two of us doing it.
Have you ever had a toy stall anywhere?
The Land of the Giants thing looks intriguing, and how much do want for the Vivid Joe 90 Case?
ReplyDeleteI think its a lunchbox Scoop. A brand new repro I got in New York along with a few others for the stall. They sold well as did the Joe 90 case by Vivid I'm afraid! A lovely repro. I loved that original set in the Sixties and thought the case and the pistol were so futuristic.
DeleteOops...Land of the Giants is an annual I think now I've put my specs on!
DeleteI'm curious about the large gorilla, Woodsy. Was he from a movie or TV tie-in?
ReplyDeleteThe big gorilla is Amy from the film Congo Tone. It never sold and I still have it!
DeleteAmy looks huge and quite realistic. You guys had some quality items there. Nice to see a pic like this... great days I'd imagine, Woodsy :)
ReplyDeleteYep, it was great fun Tone. Hard work, early starts and lots of crate carrying but always good to talk to other collectors about vintage stuff. I did fairs before Ebay came along and in many ways for me Ebay made me lazy as I did far fewer fairs once I started Ebaying a lot. Far less social too!
