as I suspected, nothing. A damp field full of overpriced tat. Sellers seem to think that car boots are an outdoor ebay these days and can command retail prices for crap. Gone are the days when people just wanted help emptying the attic and garage, now its assumed that any punter will pay handomely for rubbish that has fallen out of a bin.
I had that pink bunny atv! Seems the tail is broke on yours though not to mention the face stickers worse for wear. I also had the tiger one which was neat but the tail fell out of it and went AWOL.
I'm heading off to a flea market and an antique mall this afternoon. Not been to either place in some time so hoping a treasure or three shows up and not for a king's ransom.
Ha ha, a pink bunny ATV. Yep, I'd forgotten about that one. Still managed to sell it years ago. Good luck at the two events this afternoon Lance, they sound promising!
You found some lovely items there, Woodsy. We walk the car boots most weekends. I seem to accumulate kitsch these days, as well as other assorted junk which I never seem to find a place for when I bring it home. Last weeks find consisted of 5 x 1950s photographic year books, a sixties canvas, and two typically terrible sixties-seventies 1/6 scale cheesy Spanish dancers which I've photographed and simply stored away. The week before it was a plastic lobster which once would've been displayed on a fishmonger's stall... he now lives in retirement under the telly stand. I tell myself that I'm stocking up for that nostalgic junk shop I dream about opening one day in Glasto :)
going to the local booty this morning, not hopeful though!

ReplyDeleteMaybe its us collectors at fault Bill? We've stripped out everything of interest over the last 20 years!
