Could other toys work with Major Matt Mason figures?
The Spanish Madelman Mars Lander is a strong contender. Madelman and Matt Mason were similar sizes so it looks good.
In fact there's proof positive that they go together on You Tube. Check this out by Blueflamechevelle!
Have you got one of these toys?
Sadly I do not have one despite several attempts to get one. On the other hand, the Super Joe Rocket Sled worked well as a base/ship to haul MMM around. Unfortunately all my MMM toys are gone and I've only a few parts of my rocket sled left. I'll send pictures your way of it as it's been modified for Micronaut use and works really well! Ah the days of my youth...
ReplyDeleteHi 1, that sled sounds fab. Piccies would be cool. Email address is at the bottom of the page. Is Super Joe GI Joe?
DeleteSuper Joe is what we got in the states as oil prices increased. Hasbro shrunk GI Joe down from 12" to 8" (Mego sized) and gave him a light gimmick back pack to fight the bad guys with. Some of the accessories from the 12" line were reused.
DeleteThe Joe vanished here until the rise of the Real American Hero 3 3/4" figure 4 years later. I believe the RAH is called Action Force over there.
Action Force is a cool range for sure Lance. Oddly enough its not covered in my book of action figures, which includes GI Joe. Strange how it gets overlooked,
DeleteI actually do have one, Woodsy, and it is indeed ideal for the Major as he's the same size/scale as Madelman. Need to fix the lighting though...
ReplyDeleteBlueflamechevelle is Pete Dibenedetto, who hosted the MMM custom group on Yahoo (now quiet since everything MMM has gone to farcebook) on which were featured numerous examples of other toys being pressed into use for MMM, usually converted. And he did many stop-motion films featuring some of his own customs, so you'll be in for a treat if you check his channel.
Best -- Paul
Cool Paul! Its looks a big toy too! Yep. I've been admiring Blueflamechevelle Pete's work for years although I don't know him like you. So talented as a toy customiser and film maker. MMM is huge isn't it amongst our generation, the Star Wars of its day!
