When I was a kid way back when I had a tiny book. It was miniature. I think it was a bible.
I seem to recall it was a key ring, hundreds of paper pages and had metal covers. It may have had a clasp too.
Its mixed up in my memories with a tiny fold-out concertina 'book' of holiday photographs I got one summer at the seaside. That may have been a key ring too.
Does any of this ring a bell with you readers?
Yup, I had one of those 'smallest Bible in the world' key-rings too, Woodsy (around 1968 or '69). Thing is 'though, if I recall correctly, it wasn't the complete Bible, just one of the Gospels, or perhaps the first chapter of Genesis.
ReplyDeleteQuite a nifty little item, wish I still had it.
Great stuff Kid, glad I wasn't imagining it. So it wasn't the full thing eh? They must have have been sods to make. The metal covers were a gold colour just like a bendy metal fish key ring I had too. Remember those? Like a chain mail fish!
DeleteThe fish sounds familiar, but I'm unsure whether I'm remembering it or just imagining I'm remembering it because you mentioned it.
DeleteRemember them, think at one point they were sold amongst Ellisdon's novelities.
