Its Pancake or Shrove Tuesday here in the UK. In the long list of annual festivals and despite being toy-free this was one if my favourites as a kid on account of my fondness for pancakes!
I still love them and Pancake Tuesday is as good a reason to eat a plateful for tea as any. I've only ever had them for tea. I wonder what its like having them during the day or even breakfast?
My own favourite method of eating them is a simple sugar dusting and then rolled. My Missus loves to cook them with sliced apples.
What's your favourite pancake readers?
M & M Pancakes, a specialty at my uncles restaurant in the 70's.M & M chocolate candy with the colorful coating on the outside were put in the batter before cooking. The chocolate would be slightly melted upon serving.A little whipped sweet cream on top...fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSugar sprinkled over the flat pancake, which is then rolled, with more sugar sprinkled along the top. Finished off with a severe drenching of lemon juice.
