I really liked this Thunderbird 3 model and excellent diorama on display at Andercon.
The whole thing, which was made by Andy Rolfe, was built using a plastic drum with a section cut away.
The model is only around 18" tall but you wouldn't believe it from this photo.
I really like the detail.
There's even a tiny Alan Tracy about to board.
The view from the Round House perhaps!
Stunning Scoop! Another amazing modeller! It looks absolutely huge, not just 18 inches tall! Its a credit to the Andercon team that they can get all thos fan models and puppets to the venue and displayed so well. Must takes tons of work to pull it off. You'll have to get some Scoop creations there next year! BTW Am I right in thinking that the original TB3 sat on three hoover engines as supports in the launch bay?
ReplyDeleteI have heard that Woodsy. I'm sure there'll be the odd uberfan who'll tell you the model number.
ReplyDeleteI remember on of the effects people, Brian Johnson or possibly Alan Shubrook saying that there was several factories on the Slough estate that made parts for various things which the team used to scrounge the odd item from including Mars Bars!
That is some really nice modelling work. Great shots Scoop!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ed, like I've said before the standard of modelling at each new event I go to just gets better.
