Reproing backing cards is really satisfying. Its a cheap way of completing a toy when budgets are tight and a rewarding exercise to boot. Here's my repro packaged SpaceX Nuclear Ferry. Bill created the card itself for me and I hunted down some suitable plastic blisters from Poundland! The picture above shows my Ferry propped up against a large scan of the real thing courtesy of Bill.
The above image features the Ferry again but this time with a much better miniature jet for the front. The one in the first picture up top is a cheap modern mini jet. The one above is an authentic SpaceX accessory, albeit from the Booster Rocket and not actually the Nuclear Ferry. It does the job brilliantly though and is once again thanks to benevolent Bill.
The larger carded yellow Salvage Craft is the original painted prototype I got about five years ago, which this year I secured on Bill's first repro card for a bigger Salvage Craft I made back then from Das Pronto. The red SpaceX Commander badge is genuine as is the carded Mobile HQ, shown for comparison.
And to round things off nicely, here are a couple of the new SpaceX Salvage Crafts Bill and me produced as a blog exclusive this year. Bill has really got the backing card off to a fine art for this and the Ravenstar models were excellent. Our paint job and clear blisters from Poundland finished it off perfectly if I say so myself and the limited edition of just five flew off the workbench like hot cakes!
Excellent stuff mr W, heres to the next Blogsclusive!
