HOUSE OF CARDS

A friend of mine has been clearing his loft ready for a house move and came across a few old cards featuring Gerry Anderson's shows. He knew I'd interested and dropped them off at Glenn Field.

There were a few Barratt sweet cigarette Space 1999 cards. 

There was one from the Lyons Maid set - The Mission of the Darians. The other two were given to me by Woodsy but as I do like these painted cards I thought it would be nice to include them.

It's interesting that Lyons Maid use the typeface from the UK 1999 Pressbook rather than what appeared in the titles.

There were several Primrose Joe 90 sweet cigarette cards. I'd forgotten just how thin these cards were compared to the thicker Barratt ones. I'm told they were released as two sets of 50, one on thin card and one on thick. Begs the question why?

There was three very tatty Thunderbirds monochrome Somportex cards. These were everywhere when I was a kid. I can still remember the rubbery smell of the stick of gum that came in the wrapper.

There were others. Amongst them were one from the Sky Ray Moon Fleet set, a couple from the Space Patrol set, three from the Lyons Main Space Exploration set and four from the Primrose Space Race set. But they are for another day.
