Further to Woodsy's post about the Eaglemoss Batmobile collection I thought I'd take a few photos of the magazine's premier edition model of the movie Batmobile.
It's a nice representation although I think I'd prefer black wheel trims rather than silver.
I love the little bits of detail in the diorama which are similar to the James Bond car collection that were released a few years ago.
The Batman figure looking slightly taller than Michael Keaton.
Some nice detail at the rear of the model.
The 3D lenticular backdrop completes the package.
I'm not sure how many issues will find their way to newsagents, probably half a dozen or so. The big pull to subscribing and paying out that hefty £20 a month is a 'free' die cast model of the Batwing ,(designed by Derek Meddings if my memory serves) and an armoured Batmobile.
Decisions, Decisions!
Stay tuned Bat fans, I'll do the TV Batmobile next week.
I see Eaglemoss are also planning 80 issues of a similar magazine with model series of Star Trek starships. Around 80 issues again the same size as the Batmobiles. The shuttles should be a good size, but where do you put 80 models!

There's list of which models are planned-

Thankfully, apart from a nostalgic nod to the original series I'm not that bothered about Star Trek, so it won't be a problem for me, Yorkie. :)
ReplyDeleteWonder how long it will be before there is an Anderson-related series?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics Mike. I'm very tempted now! It'll be a pleasure watching your collection grow!
